Criminal Defense Case History of H. Michael Steinberg
During the summer of 1993 in Denver, the nationally publicized "Summer of Violence," Mr. Steinberg prosecuted the murderers of a young teacher whose high profile shooting death marked the start of that deadly season. He has also prosecuted several medically complex cases. In 1994, Mr. Steinberg was the lead prosecutor in a high profile and nationally publicized case involving the death of a patient at the hands of a well known dentist in the city of Aurora, Colorado. Mr. Steinberg has also targeted complex white collar crimes including securities fraud, and embezzlement cases. Between 1993 and 1995, he successfully prosecuted one the largest securities fraud cases ever brought by a Colorado State district attorney's office (involving over 5 million dollars in embezzled funds and several hundred victims - including many elderly citizens who had lost their life savings). Mr. Steinberg has strong credentials in the use of computers and prosecuted the first high profile computer hacking case litigated in the Denver Metropolitan Area. Successfully represented Professional Washington Skins Football Player Michael Westbrook in Boulder District Court Trial in 1998. Represented A Therapeutic Foster Care Home in the 1999 case involving the shooting death of a mentally impaired child by the Englewood Police Department in Englewood, Colorado. H. Michael successfully represented one of the defendants in the complex and high profile "rebirthing therapy" child abuse death case in Jefferson County Colorado.
